COMPASSION CAMP 2012

Compassion Camp 2012 July 23-27

2012 campers visiting the exhbit on racial stereotyping at the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center in Hartford  -->

We have an awesome group of kids and we are going to have a great week together in July as we express compassion for others through our our theme of “IN OUR SHOES.” You will have a chance to do good work AND you will enjoy some fun summer activities with friends. Bring a spirit of cooperation, a generous heart, and helping hands and we will have a wonderful time! Here are a few of the things we plan to do: - Assist with summer lunch program at TEEG in Thompson on Monday. - Visit the Stowe Center in Hartford to learn about stereotyping on Tuesday. - Work with the handicapped at the Center of Hope on Wednesday. - Tend the community garden at People’s Harvest in Pomfret on Thursday. - Prepare food and serve a meal at our own Senior Café on Friday. - Plus lots of games, creative snacks, and a pool party! We will begin each day at 9:00 am the First Congregational Church on Route 169 in Woodstock. Plan to bring your own bag lunch on Tuesday and Thursday. Otherwise snacks and lunches will be provided each day. It is also a good idea to have your own refillable water bottle for hot days. Please wear comfortable clothes and sneakers since we will be on the move! Plan to get picked up at 3:00 PM.
